This nationally recognised unit provides the knowledge and practical capability required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in line with current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

  • Recognise and assess an emergency situation safely.
  • Perform CPR on adults and infants.
  • Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely.
  • Communicate with emergency services and complete incident reporting.

Suitable for:
Workplace first aiders, employees and community members
Blended delivery: Complete the required online theory and formative activities before attending an interactive face-to-face workshop. During the practical session, participants practise CPR, AED operation and emergency response through guided activities and realistic scenarios.
Workplace and group training: Customised sessions may be arranged for businesses and organisations with groups of five or more participants. Training can be delivered at a Paradigm Training Group facility or at a suitable workplace, with scenarios tailored to relevant industry risks and emergency situations.
Assessment requirement: Participants must successfully demonstrate all required knowledge and practical skills to receive the Statement of Attainment. Further practice, support and reassessment opportunities may be provided where competency is not demonstrated during the initial workshop.

Practical first aid skills for real emergencies

This nationally recognised unit prepares participants to respond calmly and effectively to workplace incidents, medical emergencies and everyday injuries through realistic, hands-on training.

  • Recognise hazards and assess an emergency situation safely.
  • Perform CPR and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Manage bleeding, burns, fractures, choking, shock and other injuries.
  • Respond to asthma, anaphylaxis and other common medical emergencies.
