PTG's New Navigation Trainer (in training) - Charly

Legacy on the High Seas: Charly Continues the PTG Family Tradition

Paradigm Training Group Celebrates a Milestone as Third-Generation Family Member Takes the Helm

J.L. PTG Marketing and Resource Manager

At Paradigm Training Group (PTG), a new wave of leadership has begun to chart its course. The 12th of December 2023 marked a significant milestone for the company, as Charly, a third-generation family member, successfully conducted her first training session in navigation and chart work (under supervision). This event signifies not just a personal achievement for Charly but also the enduring legacy of a family deeply rooted in maritime training excellence.

Charly, who is currently undertaking the Certificate IV in Training and Assessing course, led a group of seven aspiring maritime professionals, some of whom are working towards their Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal and Master >24 meters qualifications. The units, MARH016 and MARH013, are pivotal for those navigating their careers in the maritime industry, and having Charly at the helm brought a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the session.

The pride in the room was palpable, especially for PTG’s CEO, Julianne Zalite. As Charly’s grandmother and a visionary in the maritime training industry, Julianne has seen the company evolve and adapt through the years. Witnessing her granddaughter continuing the family tradition in maritime education was a dream come true.

“Seeing Charly confidently lead today’s training session was a poignant reminder of how far we’ve come as a family and a company. It’s a proud moment for all of us at PTG.”

– Julianne Zalite (PTG CEO).

Charly’s debut as a trainer is more than just a continuation of a family legacy; it’s a testament to PTG’s commitment to nurturing talent and expertise within. Her fresh approach and dedication are vital for the company as it continues to provide top-tier maritime training. This significant event not only celebrates Charly’s entry into a revered family tradition but also reaffirms PTG’s position as a leader in maritime training.

As PTG sails forward, it remains committed to delivering excellence in maritime training, guided by the experience of past generations, and energized by the passion of the new. Charly’s first training session is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey ahead, both for her and for Paradigm Training Group.
