This program is supported under the Queensland Government Career Start Program (general training pathway). Eligible students may undertake this program utilising Career Start funding. Fees are based on the type of qualification and provider, and additional charges may apply where course costs exceed the government subsidy (including AMPA-delivered training). The Certificate III in Business is designed for individuals navigating various Business Services roles, marking a significant step in their professional development. It suits those refining their work performance, encompassing tasks from procedural to administrative, requiring both technological and business acumen. With a focus on applying competencies, discretion, and theoretical knowledge, participants also learn to support and technically advise their teams.

This qualification is offered over a 12-month period through a blended delivery model of face-to-face and online training and assessment. The face-to-face component is delivered over a four-day workshop. Prior to commencement of the face-to-face component of the course, online pre-learning and formative assessment activities must be completed. You will have online support from trainers and assessors throughout the duration of the course.

Please note: You are welcome to attend more than one face-to-face workshop during the 12-month program if you would like extra learning or if the trainer and assessor has identified that you need extra time in order to gain competence. Extra workshops incur no further costs and are included in your original course fee/ s.

Face-to-Face Workshop
The face-to-face component of this course is delivered over a four-day workshop. During the four days you will complete training with formative and summative assessment activities within a classroom setting.

Online Activities
These consist of:

  • Multiple choice and other formative assessment questions
  • Reading learning materials
  • Reviewing slideshows
  • Video, email, text and phone conversations with Trainers and Assessors

You will need a computer or tablet with internet access for the online components of this program.

Resources required for workshop days will be provide for you by PTG. 

In order to successfully complete this qualification and gain your Certificate III in Business, you must demonstrate competency in all unit knowledge and skill requirements. If you are unable to demonstrate competency in any of your unit activities or during the face-to-face workshop, you will be invited to attend further workshops where you will be provided with support and further opportunities for practice and to demonstrate the required competencies.

  • Credit Transfer: If you have completed any single or multiple units in this qualification and can provide evidence in the form of a certificate and transcript issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or educational body, you may be eligible for credit transfer. You should consult with PTG for advice on this process.
  • Recognition of Prior Learning: RPL recognises your existing experience gained through life or work for which you may not have obtained a formal qualification. If you are able to supply valid, sufficient, current and authentic evidence of having the skills and knowledge required for any or all of the required units for this qualification, you may be eligible for RPL and should consult with PTG for advice on this process.

  • BSBLDR411 Demonstrate leadership in the workplace
  • BSBOPS304 Deliver and monitor a service to customer

The Career Start (General Training Pathway) provides eligible Queenslanders with subsidised access to a Certificate III qualification to help them enter the workforce, re-enter employment, or progress in their career. Funding is available only once per person, so participants should carefully consider their training choice before enrolling.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Aged 15 years or older and no longer at school
  • Living permanently in Queensland
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant), or eligible temporary resident
  • No Certificate III or higher completed in the past 10 years (school and foundation skills qualifications don’t count)
  • Not currently enrolled in another qualification (excluding foundation skills)

Additional entry requirements or exemptions may apply depending on the qualification and industry.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
All students enrolling under the Career Start program must complete a short LLN assessment prior to finalising enrolment.

As a Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we deliver this qualification under the Queensland Government Career Start program (general training pathway), enabling eligible participants to access subsidised training opportunities. Co-Contribution Fees
The following co-contribution fees apply depending on whether a student is enrolled as non-concessional or concessional:
  • Non-concessional: $402.00 (full course cost)
  • Concessional: $86.00 (full course cost)

Payment Terms

In line with Skills Assure Supplier policy, upfront charging and collection of the total Co-contribution fee is not permitted. At enrolment, no more than 30% of the applicable fee is payable:
  • Non-concessional: $120.60 (30% of $402.00)
  • Concessional: $25.80 (30% of $86.00)
The remaining balance must be paid in full once the theory component is completed and before students are able to book their practical workshop:
  • Non-concessional: $281.40 (remaining 70%)
  • Concessional: $60.20 (remaining 70%)

Concessional Co-Contribution
To be eligible for concessional funding you must provide evidence that you:
  • Hold a Health Care Card or Concession Card issued under the Commonwealth Law or
  • Proof of a partner or dependent who holds a Health Care Card or Concession Card and that you are named on that card.
Please note, the co-contribution fee can be paid by another party if required (e.g., Partner, Employer, Parent).

The initial enrolment form submitted will be considered tentative until such time as all eligibility documentation is reviewed. Once this process is finalised the enrolment will become active with full access to the course content through the student portal.

When completing the online enrolment form, you will be prompted to upload supporting documents which include:
  • Identification (e.g. Queensland drivers license, passport, proof of age card, etc.).
  • Proof of residency in Queensland (e.g. back of license, electricity bill etc.).
  • Eligibility for concession (e.g. Health care card or concession card issues under Commonwealth Law.
  • Australian or New Zealand Citizenship (where required).

Our Location

Paradigm Training Group is now conveniently based at Australia’s premier marine facility, The Boat Works, located in Coomera, QLD. Our office and training room are situated in the South Yard at A-05, directly opposite The Boat Works administration office and slipway, on the waterside of Hangar H.
