Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Fee-For-Service

HLTAID009

Our HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course combines flexible online learning with an immersive, hands-on practical workshop designed to build confidence and life-saving emergency response skills. This nationally recognised course provides participants with the knowledge and practical experience required to recognise cardiac emergencies, perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in line with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. Practical training can be tailored to workplace environments and industry-specific scenarios, ensuring participants develop skills that are relevant, realistic and directly applicable to their roles.

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a nationally recognised course that equips participants with the essential skills, knowledge and confidence to respond effectively during a cardiac arrest or other life-threatening emergency. The course is delivered in accordance with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and focuses on providing participants with the ability to act quickly and effectively when every second counts.

The course is delivered through a flexible blended learning model, allowing participants to complete the theory component online at their own pace before attending a practical face-to-face workshop. Depending on individual requirements and group sizes, the practical component is typically delivered over a half-day session.

Our practical workshops are interactive, engaging and highly hands-on, providing participants with the opportunity to develop and refine their CPR skills through realistic emergency scenarios, guided practice and practical assessment activities. While the learning environment is supportive and enjoyable, strong emphasis is placed on the importance of responding confidently, safely and effectively during real emergency situations.

Participants will learn how to recognise and assess emergency situations, ensure the safety of themselves and others, perform CPR on adults and infants, operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), communicate effectively with emergency services and provide appropriate incident reporting following an emergency response.

To maximise workplace relevance, practical training scenarios can be tailored to reflect the specific risks, hazards and emergency situations commonly encountered within participants' industries and work environments. Whether working in maritime operations, construction, hospitality, education, transport, manufacturing or office-based workplaces, participants will gain practical experience responding to situations that closely align with their day-to-day roles.

This course is suitable for individuals required to maintain CPR certification for workplace compliance, designated workplace first aiders or anyone wishing to gain the confidence and skills to respond effectively in a life-threatening emergency. On successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

This qualification is offered over a 3-month period through a blended delivery model of face-to-face and online training and assessment. The face-to-face component is delivered over a one-day workshop. Prior to commencement of the face-to-face component of the course, online pre-learning and formative assessment activities must be completed. You will have online support from trainers and assessors throughout the duration of the course.

Face-to-Face Workshop

Following completion of the online theory component, participants attend a practical face-to-face workshop where they will develop and demonstrate CPR skills through hands-on activities, realistic emergency scenarios and practical assessment tasks. This interactive workshop is designed to build confidence and ensure participants can respond quickly and effectively during a cardiac arrest or other life-threatening emergency.

CPR workshops are generally conducted monthly. Please refer to our online training calendar for upcoming dates and contact our team to reserve your place.

For businesses and organisations wishing to train groups of employees, customised training sessions can be arranged for groups of five or more participants. Training can be conducted at one of our training facilities or delivered at your workplace, subject to suitability and training requirements.

To ensure the training is meaningful and directly applicable, practical scenarios can be tailored to reflect the specific risks, hazards and emergency situations commonly encountered within your industry and workplace environment. Participants will gain practical experience performing CPR, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and responding to emergency situations relevant to their roles.
